Saddlebreds that are shown in the various divisions at qualifying horse shows are recognized for their outstanding performance.  Awards are presented each year at our Annual Banquet and include awards for the top Equitation riders as well as for the Academy division winners.

The Banquet is a festive and entertaining event which usually takes place in early December to congratulate our season's high point award winners.  It's a great time to visit with the many members whom we see only on occasion but who support our organization all year long.   It's also a time to thank those that work so hard to achieve our goals and to focus attention on those persons deserving special recognition.

  2011 AWARDS BANQUET

Over 100 members and guests gathered at the Beaver Brook Country Club on December 4th for the annual celebration.  The event began at 4:00 PM followed by the sit down dinner, high point award presentations and a time for reminiscing with our guest speaker, Don Harris.  Retiring President Joan Booth gave a welcome speech and introduced the Officers and Directors who begin their term on January 1, 2012.  Pictured below:  Sherrill Ducharme, past Board member and Haynet Editor; Brian Campbell, Board member; Joan Booth, retiring President and Board member, Jenn Moore, newly elected Secretary; Mary Elias, Board member; Anne Butler, Board member; Gwen Stableford, Treasurer; Jeanne Lavelle, Board Member, retiring Secretary; Kathleen Ververeli, Board member; and President Elect, Lorraine Schumacher.

As outgoing President, Joan continued her tradition of recognizing those members who served so well during her four years in office - those whose service is somewhat taken for granted.  Sherrill Ducharme, editor of the Haynet, and Laura Scott, the Point Secretary each received engraved snow globes containing horse angels as a token of thanks.  Gwen Stableford was asked to step forward to receive a bouquet of flowers in thanks for her continuous years of service as Treasurer, the position she has fulled since 1980.

Awards were presented with the assistance of Don Harris.  The Year End High Point Awards are earned by attending the qualifying shows in New Jersey and surrounding states in all the Saddlebred Division performance and pleasure sections, in the Equitation Division and the Academy Division.
